I hope you had a great Christmas break and that your 2020 is going well? When we came back to the studio we hit the ground running, with a lot of the projects we were working on last year coming to fruition. The studio is feeling very positive and there are high hopes on what we will achieve in the coming months.
In 2019 we made several improvements to our ordering systems, we upgraded and invested in new equipment and employed new team members. All of this enabled us to complete some beautiful bespoke projects and work in areas we couldn’t before.
This year we’ve set our sights even higher, with exciting plans to expand our lighting range and to lead the way in reducing plastic waste in the industry.
Here are just a few things we promise to achieve before the end of 2020.
1. Remove all plastic from our packaging
Living and working near the seaside, the plastic that I spot drifting into the harbour or on a walk along the beach is upsetting. Fosbery Studio has always made efforts to reduce the use of plastic, re-using packaging sent from suppliers or using recycled Kraft paper to pack out our boxes. By the end of February 2020 Fosbery Studio will be 100% plastic free.
Full details to follow next month on how we have left plastic behind, including custom made recycled kraft board, individually cut packaging designs and recyclable paper tapes.
2. Increase our range of bathroom lighting
In 2019 we had some of our lights tested successfully in laboratory conditions for IP44 certification. This year will see the development of a new range of bathroom lights, which will be launched later in the summer. Watch this space…
3. Introduce some fantastic new designs
Original creations focusing on our expertise with brass finishing, striking forms and skilful fabric manipulation are being finalised this year. Watch out for the individual launch newsletters throughout the year culminating in a final exhibition at Decorex International, London
We have a lot to get on with! 2020 is going to be an exciting year for us. There are seeds for the new designs already germinating in the studio these are going to be our best yet, gorgeous hand-crafted pieces original in their design, and building on the aesthetic that Fosbery Studio has begun to create.
